If you plan to be outside today, or it cannot be avoided, be sure to take plenty of shaded breaks, try to limit strenuous outdoor work, stay well- hydrated, and know the signs of heat-related illnesses. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible on Sunday, as a cold front moves through the state. A few strong to severe storms will be possible, with hail and damaging wind gusts the primary concern. Hazardous heat may be seen again over portions of central to southern Arkansas on Sunday ahead of the cold front and precipitation, and additional heat headlines may be necessary. Through the remainder of the long term period, hazardous heat will remain the primary concern. Daily high temperatures are expected to top out near triple digits at most locations, in conjunction with overnight low temperatures near 80 degrees, providing little to no relief during the overnight hours. Daily maximum heat index values will be in excess of 105 to 110 degrees across much of the forecast area, prompting the need for additional heat headlines. Hydration and rest cycles out of the intense heat conditions and in adequate air conditioning will be necessary whether you are recreating or working. .Spotter Information Statement...
