...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN EDDY COUNTY THROUGH
530 PM MDT...

At 441 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 12 miles north of Carlsbad North to Avalon.
Movement was northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Carlsbad, Avalon, Carlsbad North, and Lake Avalon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Midland.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM MDT for
southeastern New Mexico.
