Surface winds out of the southwest are forecast through late week, with speeds around 5 to 10 knots. The east coast sea breeze will still be able to form each day, but will develop later and remain pinned closer to coast today. Winds will switch to the southeast to around 10 knots along the coast where the sea breeze forms and shifts slowly westward. Scattered showers and storms will develop ahead of the west coast sea breeze and move east-northeast across the area and offshore through the afternoon and early evening hours each day. An increase in coverage of this activity will be possible with any sea breeze or storm outflow boundary collision that occur closer to the I-95 corridor later in the day, with a few stronger storms possible. Gusty and variable winds will be possible in the vicinity of any thunderstorm activity. No min RH concerns expected through late week, with dispersion values ranging from very good to excellent today and generally good to very good on Friday. Hot and muggy conditions continue, with a Moderate to Major Heat Risk persisting. Afternoon high temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s, with peak heat indices ranging between 102-107. Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast. Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
