.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 251 PM CDT Tue Sep 24 2024

TODAY THROUGH TUESDAY, no significant changes from the previous
forecast as dry and mild weather continue to be the main story
for the rest of the month. Early afternoon satellite imagery,
radar, and surface obs showed a weak boundary across the region,
with a few light rain showers develop along it. Have added
sprinkles to the forecast, since the most likely scenario is for
only a few drops.

Light northwest winds will continue overnight, but did add some
patch fog to areas mainly along and east of I-35, and also
along the Minnesota River Valley where winds will be lighter. On
Wednesday, high pressure will remain in control keeping the
region dry. Southerly winds will develop on Thursday, and a
washed out frontal boundary will pass through the region Friday.
By this time, the remnants of Helene will have merged with an
Upper Level Low, which will cut off any moisture transport to
the region. The end result is continued dry and sunny weather
through the weekend. Looking ahead, a cold front is forecast to
pass through the region early next week, which will bring cooler
temperatures, but nothing in the way of appreciable rainfall.
The small chances for rain Monday and Tuesday are more likely to
decrease rather than increase given the current weather regime.
