...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN FREEBORN...
NORTHEASTERN FARIBAULT...SOUTHWESTERN STEELE...SOUTHEASTERN BLUE
EARTH AND WASECA COUNTIES THROUGH 245 PM CDT...

At 157 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Mapleton, or 18 miles south of Mankato, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Waseca, Mapleton, New Richland, Ellendale, Minnesota Lake, Geneva,
Hartland, Pemberton, Waldorf, Otisco, Lemond, and Hope.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 35 between mile markers 23 and 30.
 U.S. Highway 14 between mile markers 156 and 169.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
