Issued by NWS Marquette, MI
Issued by NWS Marquette, MI
429 FNUS53 KMQT 121004 FWFMQT FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN National Weather Service Marquette MI 604 AM EDT Wed Jun 12 2024 .DISCUSSION: RH values will have a chance to recover over the next few days as multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms pass through the UP today through tomorrow. Some could become strong to severe this evening across the west. The main threat Thursday will be strong WNW surface winds outside of any thunderstorms as strong winds mix down behind a cold front. Widespread gusts of 25 to 30 mph are expected with isolated gusts in excess of 35 mph. Much calmer weather will return from Thursday night through Saturday morning before the next warmup. Highs are projected to climb into the upper 80s from Monday through Wednesday next week, but multiple rain chances should help mitigate the fire threat.
