...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN COCKE...SOUTHEASTERN
GREENE...UNICOI AND SOUTHERN CARTER COUNTIES THROUGH 530 AM EDT...

At 442 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Pine Crest to Smoky Mountains-Big Creek.
Movement was east at 60 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Johnson City, Erwin, Banner Hill, Smoky Mountains-Big Creek, Pine
Crest, Unicoi, Del Rio, Waterville, Roane Mountain State Park, and
Cedar Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
these storms pass.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 AM EDT for east
Tennessee.
