...Elevated Fire Weather Conditions Through The Weekend...

Elevated fire weather conditions are expected to persist through
the weekend into the beginning of next week across our area. A
lack of recent rainfall amid warmer and drier conditions has dried
fuels, especially grasses. Although temperatures have moderated
back down to around normal after the recent heat, a relatively dry
airmass associated with an upper level Pacific trough will result
in gusty surface winds mixing to the surface across our inland
locations and higher terrain. Min RH values for locations
susceptible to potential wild fires will generally be between 10
to 30 percent Friday through Monday, and possible beyond.

...Discussion from SFOFWFEKA...

Temperatures are forecast to trend down today through the weekend.
Minimum RH`s from 15 to 30% are expected each day through this
weekend, primarily in Lake, Trinity and interior Mendocino counties.
Locally poor RH recoveries around 15 to 30% will likely continue for
the next several days over exposed ridges, especially where winds
persist through the night. Westerly to northwesterly winds are
forecast to return on Friday and then strengthen across the interior
this weekend. The strongest west to northwest winds will most likely
occur on Sunday and then continue into Monday. Potential for fast
spreading grass or brush fires will increase this weekend and
continue into Monday in fire weather zone 264 where fine fuels
continue to cure.
