The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Pottawattamie County in southwestern Iowa...
  Southern Shelby County in southwestern Iowa...

* Until 830 PM CDT.

* At 736 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Shelby, or 10
  miles south of Harlan, moving northeast at 30 mph.

  HAZARD...Two inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. This storm has a history of
           producing 2 inch diameter hail just north of Neola.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
           wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Harlan, Avoca, Walnut, Hancock, Portsmouth, Tennant, Botna Bend
  Park, Prairie Rose State Park, Nishna Bend Recreation Area, Elk
  Horn Creek Recreation Area, and Jacksonville.

This includes Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 37 and 48.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

This storm is producing large hail. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy
structure and stay away from windows!

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
