This update includes summaries for three additional area tornadoes, making a preliminary total of four confirmed tornadoes from Wednesday evening`s storms. Additional information on these tornadoes including path length and width, and possible additional tornadoes will be updated in future Public Information Statements. .Blairsville Area Tornado... An NWS Pittsburgh Storm Survey Team confirmed a weak EF-0 tornado occurred along a short stretch of Newport Rd northwest of Blairsville, PA in southern Indiana County, where damage to multiple trees was observed. Additional details will follow in an updated Public Information Statement. .Pleasant Valley to New Alexandria Tornado... NWS Pittsburgh confirmed a EF-2 tornado formed just west of Manor Valley Golf Course in Westmoreland County, was on the ground for roughly 11 miles, and lifted just south of New Alexandria near Route 119. The strongest tornado damage was located in the vicinity of Orr Drive, where a cluster of hardwood trees was snapped at the base. Additional damage is still being evaluated for possible track extension westward into Allegheny County near Trafford, PA. No injuries or deaths occurred with this tornado. Additional details will follow in an updated Public Information Statement. .North Versailles to Bushy Run Tornado... A NWS Pittsburgh Storm Survey Team confirmed an EF-1 tornado formed near North Versailles, PA in Allegheny County and traveled to Bushy Run Battlefield State Park, lifting shortly thereafter. Additional details will follow in an updated Public Information Statement. .North Fayette Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 6.90 miles Path Width /maximum/: 100 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 06/26/2024 Start Time: 07:26 PM EDT Start Location: 3 SW Imperial-Enlow / Washington County / PA Start Lat/Lon: 40.4269 / -80.306 End Date: 06/26/2024 End Time: 07:38 PM EDT End Location: Oakdale / Allegheny County / PA End Lat/Lon: 40.3994 / -80.1813 Survey Summary: A National Weather Service survey concluded that a tornado began near the intersection of Old Steubenville Pike Rd and Route 22 on the Washington and Allegheny County border, and then progressed east-southeastward toward the town of Oakdale. Damage was sporadic and primarily to trees, with several trees sheared off near the top, and a few large trees snapped lower on the trunks. More concentrated damage was noted on Seabright Rd, Kelso Rd, and Whittengale Rd. In these areas, several large hardwood and softwood trees were snapped midway up their bases. Two large trees were also uprooted on Whittengale road. These locations are what prompted the EF1 designation, as little damage was noted to structures, except from where trees had fallen near or on them. The tornado then weakened as it progressed toward Oakdale. Some damage was noted to a few trees in Oakdale with large branches broken. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the events and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$ 34/Hefferan/Bookbinder/Rackley/JF
