Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
256 PM MDT Fri Sep 20 2024

.Discussion...

Cooler and wetter conditions are on track for the weekend, as a
Fall storm system brings widespread rain and thunderstorms, plus
higher elevation snow to the district Saturday and Sunday. Drier
weather with seasonal temperatures then returns for much of next
week, save for a few possible showers over and near the higher
terrain on Tuesday.

Afternoon smoke dispersion will be highly variable on Saturday,
with good to excellent values over the mountains early in the day,
andh poor to fair dispersion elsewhere. By mid to late afternoon,
increasing clouds and developing showers will drop all areas to
poor levels. On Sunday, most locations will stay in the fair
to poor level as clouds and low mixing heights linger.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
