Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
144 AM MDT Tue Jun 25 2024

.Discussion...

Well above seasonal temperatures will continue across the district
through much of the week. Warm temperatures and enough residual
moisture will keep chances for isolated to widely scattered afternoon
showers and thunderstorms across the district, with the best coverage
over and near the higher terrain. Thunderstorms are expected to
increase in coverage and intensity for Wednesday and into the upcoming
weekend, with an influx of subtropical moisture working into the Rockies.
The increased convection and an expected frontal passage later this
week will lead to temperatures cooling back to near seasonal levels into
the weekend.

Afternoon smoke dispersion will be generally good or better area wide
on Tuesday and across the plains on Wednesday, with fair to good
dispersion expected across the higher terrain on Wednesday.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
