Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
550 PM MDT Fri Jun 21 2024

.Discussion...

Widespread showers and thunderstorms will continue through
midnight across the mountains bringing more wetting rains to
the high country. Localized strong to severe storms and flash
flooding will be possible with the stronger storms, particularly
across the Eastern San Juan mountains, where soils are saturated
from recent rainfall, and for burn scars and areas of steep
terrain. Drier and warmer weather will return for the weekend
into early next week with another uptick in thunderstorms possible
by the latter part of next week as another influx of moisture
spreads northward into the region.

Most areas will see good or better afternoon afternoon smoke
dispersions on Saturday, however some areas across the San Luis
Valley and southwest mountains may struggle to reach the fair
category. Good to excellent afternoon dispersions can be expected
for Sunday.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
