...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North
Carolina...

  Dan River Near Wentworth affecting Rockingham County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

The next statement will be issued this evening at 800 PM EDT.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring.

* WHERE...Dan River near Wentworth.

* WHEN...Until this evening.

* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Minor flood stage. Flooding of lowlands
  and one or two roads.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1:45 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 19.2 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 1:45 PM EDT Wednesday was 19.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below 19 feet
    tonight.
  - Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    19.2 feet on 07/17/1941.
