647 SXUS46 KSEW 252112 RECSEW Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast National Weather Service Seattle WA 212 PM PDT Wed Sep 25 2024 .SYNOPSIS...A weather system will move across the region today, bringing more widespread rain, breezy winds, and chances of isolated thunderstorms. Winds are strong near the summit. Another system will move into the region Thursday evening into Friday, bringing another round of rain, high elevation snow and strong winds at Camp Muir and the summit. Conditions will then dry out over the weekend. Additional, weaker systems may move into the area early next week. && .IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult mountaineering conditions at 10,000 feet and above, with local blizzard-like conditions, strong winds, and near zero visibility. A high level of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in these situations. && .WEDNESDAY NIGHT...Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of thunderstorms and showers in the evening, then mostly cloudy after midnight.
