(Today and tonight) Issued at 418 AM CDT Fri Jun 28 2024 A Heat Advisory will remain in effect for this afternoon as heat index values will be up to 107 degrees. The high pressure sitting across our region will weaken a bit. This means slightly cooler temperatures for the weekend by a couple of degrees. (Saturday through Thursday) Issued at 223 AM CDT Fri Jun 28 2024 Hot and dry conditions will continue into the middle of next week. A weakness in the upper ridge, however, may bring a slight chance of thunderstorms to the Big Country late Thursday...4th of July. On Saturday, high temperatures fall a couple degrees into the upper 90s to 103 range. However, with heat indices still flirting with 105 in the Big Country, Concho Valley and Heartland...the heat advisory may need to be extended. Sunday to Monday, heat advisories may temporarily be lifted as temperatures and heat indices fall yet another degree or two. However, it will remain hot, with highs in the 97 to 102 range. Temperatures and heat indices then increase back to heat advisory criteria, at least for portions of West Central Texas, Tuesday into Thursday. && .AVIATION...
