(This evening through Monday) Issued at 214 PM CDT Sun Jun 23 2024 High pressure will continue to slowly build across the region. Hot and dry conditions will result. A few areas will likely see the triple digits across the region this afternoon into early next week as the temperatures will continue on an upward trend. && .LONG TERM... (Monday through Saturday) Issued at 418 AM CDT Sun Jun 23 2024 Hot and dry conditions are expected across West Central Texas through this coming work week and into next weekend, as high pressure continues to build and settle over the area. Along with warming 850mb temperatures into the 18-24 degrees Celsius range, afternoon high temperatures will range from the mid 90s to near 100 for the beginning of the workweek, then reach as high as the upper 90s to near 104 from Wednesday through Friday. Relative humidity values will remain elevated above 35 percent during the day and ranging anywhere from 65 to 95 percent overnight with persistent southerly flow filtering moisture into the area through much of the week. This will likely lead to muggy and humid conditions across the area, and some increase cloud cover with overnight stratus forming mainly south of the I-20 corridor through Friday.This increased cloud cover could lead to slightly cooler temperatures in comparison to any areas that may see more sunshine to the north. && .AVIATION...
