...New SHORT TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Thursday)
Issued at 146 PM CDT Wed Jun 12 2024

An isolated thunderstorm possible in eastern zones, along/east of
an Abilene to Junction line this afternoon. Storms should be
short lived, if they occur, and activity should end late
afternoon.

Dry and warmer conditions otherwise expected into Thursday as
upper ridging in Northern Mexico expands and builds north. Highs
in the upper 90s to 100 return Thursday...along a west of a
Sonora to San Angelo to Sweetwater Line, with lower to mid 90s to
the east. Lows tonight will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday night through next Wednesday)
Issued at 121 PM CDT Wed Jun 12 2024

Hot and generally dry conditions will prevail across West Central
Texas through the middle of next week. Upper level ridging centered
over Baja California and northwest Mexico will build across West
Central Texas Friday into the middle part of next week. This will
result in dry conditions along with above normal temperatures. Highs
will generally be in the mid 90s to near 100, with overnight lows in
the 70s. The GFS and ECMWF indicate an increase in moisture
across coastal Texas by the middle of next week. There is
uncertainty if any of this moisture will make it into the forecast
area, but for now, upper level ridging looks to keep most of this
moisture shunted to the southeast.

Thursday...otherwise VFR.
