Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service San Angelo TX
226 AM CDT Tue Sep 17 2024

...New LONG TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Tuesday)
Issued at 211 PM CDT Mon Sep 16 2024

No significant changes from the previous forecast. The upper
level ridge will generally remain over the area through Tuesday,
keeping temperatures warmer than normal, and rain chances low. The
HRRR and NAMNest do show an isolated shower or two this
evening and tomorrow afternoon, but will keep the forecast dry as
the coverage is expected to be so sparse that it doesn`t need
mentioning. Otherwise, look for lows tonight in the upper 60s to
lower 70s, and highs on Tuesday generally in the mid 90s.

...Above Normal Temperatures and Dry...

Expect hot and mainly dry conditions through much of the long term
as a strong upper level ridge centers over the Southern Plains.
Temperatures will be above normal with highs in the 90s through much
of the long term. Slightly cooler temperatures are possible early
next week with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Expect warm and
humid conditions during the night.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1220 AM CDT Tue Sep 17 2024

In general, VFR conditions with light southeast winds will prevail
across West Central Texas terminals through Wednesday morning.
There may be a brief window of some MVFR cigs around KSOA as some
low cloudiness across the Rio Grande Valley works its way
northward towards the area. Even if it does make it to the
terminal location, should only last a few hours at worst.
