...NWS San Angelo to discontinue the Hazardous Weather Outlook
for West Central Texas...

Effective October 1, 2024, the National Weather Service in San
Angelo will add Key Messages to the issuance of the Area Forecast
Discussion (AFD) for West Central Texas (AFDSJT).

NWS San Angelo will be providing a Key Messages section in the following
text product issued by NWS San Angelo:

*Area Forecast Discussion (AFD) for West Central Texas (AFDSJT)

The Key Messages section in the AFD will provide the main forecast
features and impacts expected in the next seven days including
hazard risks for severe thunderstorms, excessive rainfall, frozen
precipitation, excessive heat and cold, winter weather, strong
non-thunderstorm wind, fog, fire weather and blowing dust.

Since the Hazardous Weather Outlook (HWO) for West Central Texas (HWOSJT)
will duplicate the Key Messages information in the AFD, NWS San
Angelo will discontinue the issuance of the Hazardous Weather
Outlook effective October 1, 2024 as well.

In addition, the information contained in the HWO is currently available
in the form of the NWS San Angelo Graphical HWO (GHWO):

*NWS San Angelo GHWO: https://www.weather.gov/erh/ghwo?wfo=sjt
