.DISCUSSION...Fairly benign conditions are expected for Friday outside
of some gusty ridgetop winds in the morning. On Saturday, a shortwave
will track across the Northern Rockies, and this will increase the
westerly flow, leading to some gusty westerly winds. Looking ahead,
a very strong cold front will plow through the region on Monday, with
strong, gusty south to southwest winds ahead of it, followed by a
rapid transition to northwest winds behind it. Current timing has
the front moving through the area late Monday afternoon or evening.
The current forecast suggests a reasonable range for wind gusts is in
the 30-40 mph range out ahead of the front from late Monday morning
until the front arrives and forces a wind shift back to the northwest.
