324 FNUS53 KTOP 220853 FWFTOP Fire Weather Planning Forecast National Weather Service Topeka KS 353 AM CDT Sat Jun 22 2024 .DISCUSSION... Fire weather concerns remain low due to green fuels. A weak boundary is forecast to slide south through the afternoon. Ahead of this boundary, southwest winds could gust up to 35 mph. Fortunately minimum RH values should remain at or above 40 percent. As the boundary moves south, winds will switch to the northwest and generally weaken, becoming light by the mid-evening. Mixing heights between 4 and 7 KFT will promote excellent conditions for smoke dispersal. There could be some scattered thunderstorms develop after 4 pm on the boundary. This activity is expected to be hit or miss with average precip amounts remaining less than a quarter of an inch. Hot weather is expected into next week. There are a couple chances for precip. The better chances look to be Tuesday night and again Thursday night into Friday.
