At 1242 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain mainly in southeast
Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. They were most widespread and
heaviest in Choctaw and Pittsburg counties in Oklahoma and Sebastian
county in Arkansas. The precipitation was in the Fort Smith area.
Movement was to the southeast at around 30 mph. The average amount
where it rained last hour was one tenth to one quarter of an inch
with maximum amounts of three quarters to around an inch. Coverage
and intensity remained about the same as last hour. The Tulsa area
forecast for late tonight, partly cloudy, showers and thunderstorms
likely with temperatures 59 to 62 degrees and southwest winds up to
5 mph.
