NWS Caribou found no evidence of tornado damage when searching multiple paved and dirt roads just north of Haynesville and just southeast of Sherman, where the strongest rotation on radar was present. This does not necessarily mean no tornado occurred, but just that no evidence was found of tornado damage. .Brownville Junction Downburst... Peak Wind E: 70 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.9 miles Path Width /maximum/: 250 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: Jun 30, 2024 Start Time: 2:12 PM EDT Start Location: 2 N Brownville Junction / Piscataquis / ME Start Lat/Lon: 45.3667 / -69.0667 End Date: Jun 30, 2024 End Time: 2:15 PM EDT End Location: 2 N Brownville Junction / Piscataquis / ME End Lat/Lon: 45.3667 / -69.0333 Survey summary: Path of uprooted and snapped trees began just north of Brownville Junction and continued to the northeast for approximately one mile. Along Front Street in Brownville Jct, approximately 10 medium to large pine trees were snapped. 20 to 30 trees were uprooted and approximately 10 trees were snapped in a wooded lot on the west side of a private property along Rte 11. On the east side of Rte 11, a RV park sustained damage to several camper awnings and tents, and some large pieces of decor at the entrance to the property were blown over. A canoe located on the top of the RV park sign was blown to the ground. Further north along Rte 11, several locations had large individual trees that were snapped, bringing down powerlines. The damage from this event was indicative of straight line winds, with the strongest winds occurring near Brownville Junction.
