An extended heat wave builds throughout the week courtesy of high
pressure. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible into early
tonight, a few of which could be on the strong side with gusty winds.
Afternoon `feels like` temperatures this week will reach into the
upper 90s to low 100s in many locations west of the mountains at times,
resulting in the potential for moderate to major heat-related impacts.
A cold front approaches from the west by late Sunday into Monday,
with chances for showers and thunderstorms in the forecast with this
feature. While it still looks hot to start off next week, temperatures
will not be quite as hot as this week.
