High pressure will continue to reign over SE Texas today with
onshore flow continuing to funnel in moisture. This moisture will
continue to be trapped under this dome of high pressure, continuing
the streak of hot and humid days. A Heat Advisory is in effect for
much of SE Texas this afternoon as heat indices reach to around 105-
110F. The Heat Advisory will likely be needed again for Saturday as
we remain in a persistent forecast.

Diurnally-driven showers and thunderstorms will continue to be
possible this afternoon and again Saturday afternoon, particularly
as the sea breeze moves inland. Otherwise, expect skies to be partly
cloudy with generally light SSE winds.

Max highs today and Saturday will be in the mid to upper 90s inland
and in the upper 80s to around 90F along the coast. Lows for
tonight and Saturday night will continue to be on the warmer side as
temperatures drop into the upper 70s to around 80F

As the streak of heat continues, please remember to practice heat
safety! Stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity at the hottest part
of the day, and LOOK BEFORE YOU LOCK! Also, for pets...if the ground
is too hot for the palm of your hand, it is too hot for their paws!

Guidance shows the broad area of low pressure over the western
Caribbean Sea being situated in the Bay of Campeche by Sunday...eventually
tracking wnw into Mexico Sunday night & Monday. Doubtful it`d be
much of a concern locally, though we`ll probably see a bump in
seas offshore.

Otherwise,continued hot through most of the week with mid and
upper level ridging in control across southern parts of the
country. The "good news" is we should mostly be positioned to the
south of the center of the ridge and in the easterlies. So
although temps will remain above normal, we can`t totally rule out
some isolated diurnally driven shra/tstms most days (ie seabreeze
activity). 47

Northernmost terminals experiencing MVFR CIGs this morning. All
other sites at VFR. Expect periods of MVFR CIGS for IAH through
around 14Z. All sites at VFR this afternoon. Light SW winds this
morning become light out of S-SE by afternoon. Showers and
thunderstorms possible at sites closer to coast this afternoon
with sea breeze. MVFR CIGs will be possible again overnight for
northern sites.

Onshore winds will prevail into early next week. A broad area of
low pressure over the western Caribbean Sea is forecast to move
into the Bay of Campeche later this weekend. Though this system
should remain well to our south, look for seas to increase as a
longer period 4-6ft swell moves into the upper Texas coastal
waters Saturday night and Sunday.  47
