.DISCUSSION...
Isolated to scattered showers this evening are expected to turn a
bit more numerous and periodic into the late overnight hours. While
overnight rainfall is generally expected to amount to a few tenths
of an inch, many drainages on and surrounding the Hermits Peak-
Calf Canyon wildfire burn area are likely saturated and primed for
quick runoff to occur. This will be more concerning going into the
daytime Friday when more unstable conditions are expected to lead
to more numerous thunderstorms with higher rainfall rates.
Additional flash flooding will be possible, primarily during the
afternoon through early Friday evening. Not as many storms are
forecast for the weekend, but storms will tend to move slower by
then which will keep a threat for locally heavy rainfall.
