.DISCUSSION...The area remains beneath a strong ridge of high pressure aloft.
This will continue to bring hot and dry conditions. Expect east winds over
ridgetops as strong as 15 mph late this evening and tonight. Widely scattered
thunderstorms this afternoon and evening will be relatively dry and may produce outflow
winds as strong as 40 mph.

Sky/weather.........Mostly sunny (40-50 percent). Haze and areas of
                    smoke through the day. Isolated thunderstorms
                    early in the morning. Isolated showers through
                    the day. Widely scattered thunderstorms in the
                    afternoon.
