947 WGUS81 KAKQ 182122 FLSAKQ Flood Advisory National Weather Service Wakefield VA 522 PM EDT Wed Sep 18 2024 VAC175-190000- /O.NEW.KAKQ.FA.Y.0113.240918T2122Z-240919T0000Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Southampton VA- 522 PM EDT Wed Sep 18 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Virginia, including the following county, Southampton. * WHEN...Until 800 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 522 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
