...THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE COASTAL ATLANTIC OFF OF VIRGINIA
BEACH AND BACK BAY...

The areas affected include...
  Coastal Waters from Cape Charles Light to Virginia-North Carolina
  border out to 20 nm...
  Currituck Sound...

At 306 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from Rudee Inlet to 7 nm west of
Sandbridge to 18 nm south of Monitor Merrimack Bridge Tunnel, moving
east at 20 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.
