.PREV DISCUSSION...
SHORT TERM...Tonight through Saturday night...The upper level
low will move to the east today, ushering in cooler, near
normal temperatures for the region today and tomorrow. Breezy
westerly winds will continue across the region today and
tomorrow, with strong downsloping winds overnight mainly in the
Baker and Lower Treasure Valley. Strong gusts will approach
35-40 mph this afternoon in the Snake River Valley, helping keep
temperatures cool as well. A ridge will then build on Saturday,
bringing above normal temperatures to the region, with Boise
seeing highs in the mid to upper 90s. Patchy smoke aloft from
area wildfires will move into the Treasure Valley and near the
Nevada border today and tomorrow.

LONG TERM...Sunday through Thursday... A weak upper level
trough will move through the region on Sunday morning, bringing
a chance of showers and thunderstorms (15-25%), mainly over the
West Central Mountains and higher terrain near the ID-NV
border. This will bring northwest flow into the region, bringing
cooler temperatures on Monday and Tuesday. A large ridge will
build in to the desert southwest on Wednesday, bringing
extremely hot temperatures and dry conditions to the region by
the end of next week.
