Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
448 AM EDT Sun Jun 23 2024

.DISCUSSION...
High low-level moisture will remain across the area today and
especially in the east. With temperatures well into the 90s,
the air mass will become weakly to moderately unstable.
However, without the deeper moisture, showers and thunderstorms
will remain isolated to scattered and focused in the southeast
Midlands today. A weak cold front/trough will move into the region
Monday with a slight increase in shower and thunderstorm coverage,
especially near the coastal plain. A wind shift to the north or
northeast expected behind the front Tuesday with slightly drier air.
Scattered convection possible late week as another front moves into
the area. However, the air mass will remain quite warm and moist
with above normal temperatures through the period.

Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog possible.
