...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Small stream and overland flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Cook County.

* WHEN...Until 715 PM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams, creeks, and rivers. Water flowing over
  roads in some spots.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 136 PM CDT Friday, trained weather spotters reported
    isolated minor flooding in the advisory area due to heavy
    rainfall this morning. Rapid river rises have already caused
    minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches
    of rain have fallen.
  - At noon, minor flooding was reported on Minnesota Highway 61
    near Colvill. At 1 pm CDT, minor flooding was reported on
    County Road 60 northeast of Grand Marais, and on Lindskog
    Road.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Grand Marais, Grand Portage, Judge Magney State Park, Judge
    C. R. Magney State Park, Hovland, Cascade River State Park,
    Grand Portage State Park, eastern Boundary Waters Canoe Area
    Wilderness, Tom Lake, Swamp Lake, Devil Track Lake, Two
    Island Lake and Grand Portage Reservation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather
Service at 1-800-685-8612.
