...The National Weather Service in Des Moines IA has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Iowa...

  Winnebago River at Mason City affecting Cerro Gordo, Worth and
  Floyd Counties.

.The river forecast for the Winnebago River at Mason City has been
adjusted upward and now reflects the potential for major flooding.
However, note that this is conditional, and dependent on the
forecast rainfall which is on the order of three or more inches of
rain across the river basin through Sunday morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For the latest river and stream observations and forecasts refer to
weather.gov/desmoines/water.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

River forecasts include observed precipitation plus forecast
precipitation through Sunday morning. This would be the second
highest crest on record.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING TO EARLY WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...
...REPLACES RIVER FLOOD WATCH...

* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The Winnebago River at Mason City, or from Beaver Creek
  near Fertile to the Shell Rock River near Rockford.

* WHEN...From Saturday morning to early Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Sandbagging occurs on the dike from 12th
  St NE to Carolina St.
  At 15.0 feet, This is the approximate top of levee protection.
  Levees run from the 12th St NE bridge to 9th St along the east
  bank and also from 8th St to 6th St and Hampshire St.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 6.8 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    tomorrow morning to a crest of 16.3 feet early Sunday
    morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
