...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas, including
  the following counties, in east central Kansas, Johnson and Miami.
  In northeast Kansas, Leavenworth and Wyandotte.

* WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1002 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause
    minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches
    of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, Shawnee, Lenexa, Leawood,
    Prairie Village, Gardner, Merriam, Mission, Bonner Springs,
    De Soto, Paola, Spring Hill, Tonganoxie, Basehor,
    Edwardsville, Louisburg, Fairway and Mission Hills.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
