.LONG TERM...
(Saturday night through Thursday)
Issued at 334 AM EDT Fri Sep 20 2024

The extended forecast begins will a large strong upper level ridge
centered over East TX/LA keeping things mainly dry across the
southeastern states. This ridge moves slowly east through the
beginning of next week becoming centered over FL by Tuesday
morning. This ridge keeps the main area of precipitation North of
the state through the middle of next week before slowly breaking
down by day 6/7. This ridge will also help keep temps unseasonably
warm with highs Sun through Wed in the upper 80s to lower 90s. As
we get closer to the end of next week there is still a lot of
uncertainty with the potential tropical development in the
Caribbean/Gulf of Mexico. Most of the models are in agreement that
something will develop but the differences in location, strength,
and intensity of whatever develops are all over the map. Will
continue to monitor over the next few days as guidance should come
into better agreement.
