.DISCUSSION...

Good morning. A ridge of high pressure remains in place over much of
the Southeast, which will promote warm and dry conditions underneath
mostly clear skies across the majority of the area today.
Temperatures this afternoon are forecast to climb above 80 by 10 AM,
rising to above 90 after 3 PM this afternoon. The high temperature
at the site will be 92 in the mid to late afternoon today. With
relative humidity values below 50 percent through the afternoon,
heat index values today are not expected to be appreciably higher
than temperatures today. Winds will be from E today at 2-3 mph
through much of the morning, increasing to 5-7 mph by 11 AM and
through the afternoon.

We are continuing to monitor the tropical wave moving eastward
towards northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. The National
Hurricane Center is forecasting a 50 percent chance of this wave
developing into tropical cyclone (most likely a short-lived tropical
depression). Even if tropical development occurs, the system is
expected to remain weak. Showers and thunderstorms ahead of the
system will spread into southeast Georgia this afternoon, but will
remain far away from the exercise location.

As moisture associated with the disturbance continues to spread
north and west, there will be a noticeable increase in humidity
values on Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures on Saturday will
rise to 95 in the mod afternoon, with a heat index as high as 98 by
5 PM, and will be even warmer on Sunday. Furthermore, an isolated
shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out in the afternoon on
Saturday or Sunday, but the chances are low (around 10 percent), and
the highest chances for rain will once again be in the southeastern
part of the state. Please feel free to contact us at 770-486-1133
extension 4 if you have any further questions or concerns.
