following rivers in South Dakota...

  Wolf Creek near Freeman affecting Hutchinson County.

  Vermillion River near Chancellor affecting Turner County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring.

* WHERE...Vermillion River near Chancellor.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 1297.0 feet, 280th Street begins to flood, and water
  reaches the bottom of the bridge on Highway 44. Several
  outbuildings and homes are flooded or in danger of flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 1298.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 7:15 AM CDT Saturday was 1298.0 feet.
