...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM CDT MONDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of east central South Dakota, including the
  following county, Brookings.

* WHEN...Until 200 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Expect many
  areas of slow moving or standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1045 PM CDT, Doppler radar and spotter reports indicate
    heavy rain due to thunderstorms has occurred over the area.
    At 10:21 PM, a spotter reported 4 inches of rain 3 mile east
    of Lake Poinsett. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the warned area.

    mainly rural areas of Northwestern Brookings County

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
