...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN DOLORES AND
NORTHWESTERN SAN MIGUEL COUNTIES THROUGH 545 PM MDT...

At 516 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Dove Creek, or 29 miles east of Monticello, moving northeast at 50
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Dove Creek and Cahone.

This includes the following highways...
 U.S. Highway 491 in Colorado between mile markers 51 and 64.
 Colorado 141 between mile markers 1 and 2, and between mile markers
27 and 39.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM MDT for
southwestern Colorado.
