...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 2005, thunderstorms brought strong winds and large hail to Norton
County Kansas.  Property damage was estimated to be five thousand
dollars southwest of Norton, where strong winds blew over a windmill,
removed shingles from a home, and propelled a 5 by 10 foot flatbed
trailer across railroad tracks.  Winds also tore two large shop doors
from a building, causing them to land on a car.  Several utility poles in
the immediate area were blown down.
