...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1995, an unusually early hard freeze, with temperatures in the middle
to upper 20s for several hours, caused considerable crop damage within
south central Nebraska and northwest Kansas.  Yield losses to corn, and
especially the milo and soybean crops, totaled 50 million dollars.
