Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

Wednesday saw very hot temperatures across the region with highs
in the upper 90s to lower 100s. Wednesday night was partly cloudy
with overnight temperatures ranging from the middle 60s to lower
70s. Winds were light and generally from the southwest.

OUTLOOK... another hot day is expected today with highs ranging
from the lower 90s in southwest Nebraska to the lower 100s south
of Interstate 70. There will be scattered afternoon and evening
thunderstorms in northeast Colorado and into parts of northwest
Kansas. Lows tonight will be in the 60s. Friday will see better
chances for thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening hours,
with some severe storms anticipated as well as locally heavy
rainfall. Highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s and lows in
the upper 50s to lower 60s. For the weekend, Saturday will see
widely scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms with highs in
the lower 90s and Sunday will be hot with highs in the upper 90s
to lower 100s and isolated evening thunderstorms.
