...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN ALEXANDER AND
NORTHWESTERN IREDELL COUNTIES THROUGH 700 PM EDT...

At 619 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6
miles southeast of Wilkesboro, or 5 miles southwest of Windy Gap,
moving southeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Love Valley and Vashti.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
