Scattered to numerous rain showers persisted over portions of
eastern and southeast Kansas overnight, as a storm system traversed
Mid-America. Brief pockets of heavy rainfall resulted. Predawn
temperatures across Kansas ranged from 40s over the west, to 60s
over far southeast.

Scattered to numerous showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms will
gradually exit eastern and southeast Kansas from west to east today.
High temperatures across the state will be below average for late
September standards, with 60s and 70s likely, coolest over eastern
Kansas. Skies will gradually become sunny from west to east,
although far eastern Kansas will likely remain cloudy the entire day.

A few lingering showers are possible over far southeast Kansas this
evening. Additional light rain chances are expected to arrive over
generally the northwest half of Kansas late tonight, as a second
storm system approaches from the north. Rainfall amounts should
remain fairly light. Forecast low temperatures are in the low to mid
50s across the state.
