SOUTHWESTERN LETCHER AND SOUTHEASTERN CLAY COUNTIES THROUGH 1000 PM
EDT...

At 917 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Tacky Town, or 10 miles west of Harlan, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Harlan, Loyall, Wallins Creek, Big Fork, Sandy Fork, Hoskinston,
Bledsoe, Arthur, Daley, Louellen, Coldiron, Barnyard, Beverly, Black
Snake, Gilley, Saylor, Erose, Blanche, Napier, and Rella.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
southeastern Kentucky.
