Through 1000 pm, scattered showers with one or two embedded thunderstorms will track west to northwestward at 25 mph across Hawk Channel and the Florida Straits. This activity will be concentrated on the outer straits west of the Lower Keys, as well as, well off of the Upper Keys. The stronger activity will produce wind gusts near 35 mph, blinding downpours, and a rare lightning strike. Some this activity will drive across portions of the Upper Keys, into the adjacent bay and gulf side waters. Island locations near Islamorada and the Matecumbes will be most likely to be affected, and receive one quarter to three quarters of an inch of rain. $$
