.NOW...
Through 200 pm, a band of showers and embedded thunderstorms
continues to pick up a little speed as it continues moving to the
east through the offshore Gulf waters, western Straits of Florida,
and beginning to encroach on the wester portions of Hawk Channel and
western nearshore Gulfside waters. Latest speed is between 10 to 15
knots to the east. The rain continues for the Dry Tortugas and is
expected to do so for the next few hours. This activity will be
capable of moderate to heavy downpours reducing visibilities, wind
gusts to near 30 knots, and frequent cloud to ground lightning
strikes. Also, estimated rainfall amounts according to MRMS (Multi-
radar, Multi Sensor) to the north of the Dry Tortugas have been in
the range of 5 to 9 inches.
