Through 11 am, light to moderate showers with isolated embedded
thunderstorms across the Straits of Florida will move northwest to
north at 10 to 15 knots. The strongest storms are in the Straits of
Florida extending from south of Key West to near Alligator Reef Light
then out to Elbow Cay. Mariners can expect moderate to heavy
downpours reducing visibilities below 2 miles, wind gusts nearing 30
knots, and occasional lightning strikes within the stronger storms.
On land, a few island communities in the Upper Keys may receive up to
a tenth to a quarter of an inch of rainfall, while the western Lower
Keys may receive a quarter to a half of an inch of rainfall.
