.NOW...
Through 1 pm, scattered to numerous showers with isolated embedded
thunderstorms across the entirety of the Straits of Florida and in
the Gulf waters near the Dry Tortugas will move northwest to
northeast at 10 to 15 knots. Some of these storms will likely move
into the Hawk Channel over the next hour and possibly cross over the
island chain. Mariners can expect moderate to heavy downpours
reducing visibilities below 2 miles, wind gusts nearing 30 knots, and
occasional lightning strikes within the stronger storms. On land,
some island communities in the Lower and Middle Keys may receive up
to a quarter of an inch of rainfall.
