Through 600 AM, clusters of showers with embedded thunderstorms
remain mostly stationary in the nearshore waters around the Lower and
Middle Keys, and the distant eastern Florida Straits. This activity
is capable of occasional lightning strikes, wind gusts of 20 to 25
knots, and blinding downpours. Island communities may observe up to
half an inch of rainfall.
